Background notes: Søren is a relatively unconventional father figure in comics. Contrary to fathers in U.S. series like Calvin and Hobbes, Marvin or Zits, he is not hen-pecked, exasperated, sarcastic or anything other than a perfectly ordinary father e.g. like Ferd'nand. According to the available information this was intentional, not from a disliking of the conventional series but because the author found the portrayal rather reactionary and wanted to do something else.
