Story: In 1941 Kurtzman was used for experiments. He was given something called the Zarathustra Drug, which turned him into a super-soldier. Sometime after WWII, he was put in cryogenic sleep and revived when he was needed during wars and other crisis [1]. The reason for doing this has not been revealed.
Kurtzman was revived when the government needed to kill Pitt [1]. They did not expect Kurtzman to succeed and blasted both him and Pitt with an orbital laser while they were fighting. The blast killed Kurtzman and his friend Colonel Harding [2].
